Use these tips to drive safely through roadway work zones:

• Eyes on the road. Stay focused: No phones, no playlist changes, no distractions.
• Slow your roll. Follow posted work-zone speed limits. They’re there for everyone’s safety.
• Drive defensively. Watch for workers. Remember, they may not hear you coming over the traffic and machinery noise.
• Go with the flow. Obey all flaggers and signs. Merge when required, make full stops, and be ready to reroute through detours or temporary travel lanes.
• Be even more careful at night. Can’t see workers? Assume they’re there. Respect buffer spaces, which physically separate workers from moving traffic.
